JACK HUTCHINGS

Jack commenced his cutting career working on music videos in Australia and London, and then short films. He's had four short films play in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, in 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2012. All were directed by different directors. The first, CRACKER BAG, written and directed by Glendyn Ivin won the Palme D’Or, and the third, JERRYCAN (directed by Julius Avery) won the Jury Prize. CRACKER BAG also garnered Jack a nomination for best editing at the Australian Film Institute awards. The film also won an AFI for best short fiction film, as did JERRYCAN also.

Jack's feature film credits include the AFI nominated LAST RIDE directed by Glendyn Ivin, PARTISAN directed by Ariel Kleiman (Sundance 2015), and BASTARDY a documentary feature directed by Amiel Courtin-Wilson. The film received AFI award nominations for best documentary, and best editing in a documentary also. Other credits include SON OF A GUN, and Cate Shortland's feature film BERLIN SYNDROME which premiered at Sundance in 2017. 

Many of the commercials Jack has edited have won awards around the globe including gold, silver, bronze and titanium lion’s at the Cannes Lions, gold MADC’s and 'AWARDS' in Australia, silver Clio’s in the US, and gongs at the D&AD’s and British advertising awards in the UK.
