Berlin Syndrome has been nominated for eight gongs at the upcoming AACTA awards. The categories are for Best Direction (Cate Shortland), Best Film (Polly Staniford and Angie Fielder), Best Lead Actress (Teresa Palmer), Best Adapted Screenplay (Shaun Grant), Best Original Music Score (Bryony Marks), Best Production Design (Melinda Doring) and Best Costume Design (Maria Pattison). The Butchery's own Jack Hutchings has been nominated for Best Editing in a feature film for the project. The film tells the tale of a Clare, a young Australian traveller who meets and falls in love with a guy in Berlin- who ends up keeping her against her will in his apartment. The film was completed in 2016 and premiered at Sundance and then played the Berlin Film Festival.
