Tom Eagles is a film editor based in New Zealand who has a strong body of work that has screened at film festivals worldwide including Sundance, Berlin and SXSW.

He has collaborated frequently with fellow Kiwi, director Taika Waititi, notably on the features WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (co-directed with FLIGHT OF THE CONCORDS' Jemaine Clement), and more recently on HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE.  The first (SHADOWS) played Berlin, and Toronto film festivals and won numerous film awards overseas and at the New Zealand Film awards. HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016. A huge success at the NZ box office, it smashed records for the highest grossing New Zealand film of all time & biggest opening weekend box office.

Tom's also worked with Taika on a number of commercials, including Cannes and Axis award winners, and has worked cutting spots on cruise ships, and edit suites around the world, most frequently though in Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne.

Tom's first gig was making promos and trailers. He moved on to edit everything from documentary to comedy and especially drama. Tom has cut a large amount of US cable drama, such as the period action showpiece SPARTACUS and Sam Raimi's reboot of the horror-comedy cult hit EVIL DEAD.

A level-headed and low-key collaborator with a good eye for structure and performance, Tom's got a great sense of humour and a better sense of rhythm... just don't ask him to dance.
